24 Tattvas or Evolutes of Nature
Prakriti
Buddhi
Ahamkara
Manas

5 Jnanendriyas (means of perception) - ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose

5 Karmendriyas (organs of action) - speech, hands, legs, genitals, anus

5Tanmatras (subtle elements) – sound, touch, form, taste, smell

5Mahabutas (five elements)  – space, air, fire, water, earth

Note: the gunas are pervasive in all Tattvas (principle, reality or truth) and are therefore not counted separately

Soul and embodied soul, atma and jiva. A soul is free, absolute and unbound. An embodied soul is a soul encased in matter and energy. In itself it is pure, absolute and untouched by nature, but it is bound by the laws and limitations of nature.

Who are jivas?

Every living being in all the worlds, known and unknown are jivas. There composition and level of evolution may vary, but they all are jivas.

Human beings are made up of the 24 Tattvas, spread across 5 bodies or sheaths called Koshas, encasing the Soul.

Anamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vijnanamaya Kosha, Anandamaya Kosha.

Gross Body – Anamaya Kosha, dominant element earth
Pranamaya Kosha Air
Manomaya Kosha water
Vijnanamaya Kosha fire
Anandamaya Kosha space or ether

Karmendriyas and Jnanendriyas
Pancha-Mahabhuthas:
Earth corresponds to the Muladhara chakra
Water corresponds to the Svadhisthana chakra
Fire corresponds to the Manipura chakra
Air corresponds to the Anahata chakra
Ether corresponds to the Vishuddha chakra.

The five Tanmātras - subtle mediums of the sensations
Olfactory impressions, smell, are the quality of the earth.
The taste sensations, is the quality of water the element.
The visual sensations, is the quality of the fire element.
The touch sensations, is the quality of air element.
The auditory sensation is the quality of ether.

Karmendriyas represent the physical organs of action and the corresponding subtle organs. They are related to the active solar energy of the manas tattva (principle).
The excretory organ
The organ of excretion is Associated with the Muladhara chakra and the earth element.
The sexual or generative organ
The locomotion organ, legs are the moving organs.
The organ of apprehension
Hands are the most complex organ of action as they can express, feel and touch.
The speech organ

Jñānendriyas are the five sense organs.
Nose, tongue, eye, skin, ear
Antahkarana - the inner instrument (refers to the totality of two levels of mind, namely the buddhi, the intellect or higher mind, and the manas)
1.Manas - the lower mind 2.buddhi - the intellect
3. Chitta -the subconscious mind 4.ahaṃkāra - the empirical ego

Pancha pranas are the 5 major vital energies forming the pranic body.

1. Prana: it is the upward moving force of the chest region mainly connected with the function of respiration. It corresponds to the Anahata chakra and is denoted by yellow color.

2. Apana: is the downward moving energy of the sacral region connected with the functions of excretion and reproduction. It corresponds to the Muladhara chakra and is orange-red in color.

3. Samana: is the laterally moving energy of the navel region helping in digestive functions. It corresponds to the Manipura chakra and is denoted green.

4. Udana: is the energy that compress. is situated mainly at the throat region. It causes deglutition and also separates physical body from astral. Corresponds to the Vishuddha chakra and is violet-blue.

5. Vyana: is the energy moving in circles in the entire body. It is connected with the circulatory system. Corresponding to the Svadhisthana chakra it is denoted rose in color.

1.     Naga 2. kurma 3.krikkara 4.Devadatha 5.Dhananjaya
