Moksha – The Final Liberation

The disengagement of consciousness from the involvement with the external world may be regarded as the return of consciousness to itself, of man to God, of the individual to the Absolute. One way of this return of consciousness is attained through the practice of Yoga, which is, in its highest form, communion of the soul with the Absolute.

The liberation of consciousness from any form of bondage in yoga is called Moksha or Liberation. Liberation results in realization of the Self or ones essence. The nature of the Self is being, existence or (sat), consciousness (chit) and ananda or bliss.

Unfortunately many people on this planet have sunk into a state of consciousness that is far below their potential. This indicates a degree of spiritual death, which has a tendency to become a self-reinforcing downward spiraling experience that can be very difficult to prevent unless a radical change in perception and attitude is undertaken.
