Power of Intention

You experience what your deepest desire is.
As your desire is, so is your intention.
As your intention is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.

Intention is the starting point of every spiritual path. It is the force that fulfills all of our needs, whether for relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. Intention generates all our activities. Everything that we can see and even the things we cannot, is an expression of intention’s infinite organizing power.

As the ancient Indian sages observed thousands of years ago, our destiny is shaped by the deepest level of our intention and desire. Once we plant the seed of an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, our soul’s journey unfolds automatically, as naturally as a bulb becomes a tulip or an embryo becomes a child.

Recommendations for using intention to the highest possible benefit:
We need to set our intentions high.

Aim to be a saint and a miracle worker. If you know that the goal of inner growth is to acquire mastery, then plant the seed for mastery as soon as possible. Don’t strain to work wonders, but don’t deny them to yourself either. The beginning of mastery is vision; see the miracles around you, and that will make it easier for greater miracles to grow.

Unmask your false intentions.

False intentions take the form of guilty desires: I want someone else to fail. I want to get even. I want to see bad people punished. False intentions can be elusive, but you will notice their existence by the feeling connected with them – a feeling of fear, greed, rage, hopelessness, and weakness. Sense the feeling first, refuse to buy into it and then remain aware until you find the intention lurking beneath.

Nurture your intentions every day.

Everyday life surrounds us in a swirling chaos, and it’s easy to fall into the grip of our ego’s fears, demands, and confusion. We need to remind ourselves daily of our intentions and purpose. Some people find it helpful to write down their intentions and review them each day; for others, periods of regular meditation and prayer are invaluable. We need to find our center and not let go of our intention until it feels centered inside ourselves.

Detach.

If we intend for everything to work out as it should, we need to let go and allow opportunities and openings to come our way. Don’t listen to the voice that says you have to be in charge, that constant vigilance is the only way to get anything done. As a result of impatience, we are of the habit to force the outcome of desired events, but it is paramount, that we let results come to us naturally.

The law of attraction is this: You don’t attract what you want. You attract what you are. Virtue is a very important concept in the Law of Attraction.

The Tao Te Ching, written by Lao Tzu, states: if you live from the following virtues, then all that you could ever need or want could be provided for you.

The unknown teaching of Lao Tzu says, ‘Those who want to know the truth of the universe should practice the four cardinal virtues.

The first is reverence for all of life, it manifests as unconditional love and respect for oneself and all other beings.

The second is natural sincerity, which manifests as honesty, simplicity and faithfulness.

The third is gentleness, which manifests as kindness, consideration for others and sensitivity to spiritual truth.

The fourth is supportiveness. This manifests as service to others without expectation of reward.”

All great spiritual masters are teaching forgiveness, kindness and love. They’re not teaching wanting. They’re not teaching greed.”

So the notion of seeking what we want, or think we need, is not what’s in it for me? How can I get more? All of this is what most spiritual teachers call the false self or the ego.”

The process of allowing, of just being and embracing this heightened level of consciousness, goes back not to attracting what we want, but attracting what we are.

We have to just be, to let go, let allow. We need to be free and let consciousness express. What we will then see, is a manifestation (of energy) that expresses itself through the process of giving, of allowing, of offering and of serving, and ask nothing in return.
